Something that all members of the LDS church know is that where we come from matters. This is the subject of Malcolm Gladwell’s book "Outliers".
He states that no one from Mozart to Bill Gates made it by themselves. At a very key point they were given an opportunity – an opportunity that gave them the ability to work very, very hard.
He discusses the "10,000 hour rule", which in his opinion, is the fact that the key to success in any area is a matter of practicing a task for a total of around 10,000 hours.
The difference between great and phenomenal is ALWAYS the time spent working on it and being given the time to work on it when most can’t take that time.

He also discusses how important our families are to success. This book makes you want to dig more into your own family tree, to discover and appreciate all the opportunities you were given.
