First Ever JRCLS Regional Women in Law Conference

Exciting news! The JRCLS Women in Law Committee has decided to hold a Regional Women in Law Conference. This is the first time the JRCLS has held such an event. We think it will be an amazing experience. We hope you can join us!

Following are the who, what, when, where, how and cost of the event.

Who: Everyone is invited (that includes men). We are calling it a regional conference because we know that often people are unable to attend the JRCLS Annual Conference because of the cost involved: plane tickets, hotel, car rental, fees, etc. The idea behind this Conference is to hold it close enough to a group of women so that they can drive a relatively short distance and only have to stay in a hotel for a night and then drive home the next day. Law students and undergraduate students contemplating law school are also invited and welcome.

What: The theme for the Conference is "Paths We Take". These paths include, practicing, not practicing, family issues and community involvement. The class presenters and speakers will all be women and will address issues that are applicable to "women of faith who are trained in the law". There will be a plenary breakfast and lunch and six classes (you will be able to choose three of the six) will be offered in between those two plenary events.

When: It will be held on Saturday, November 9th, 2013.  It will begin at 8:00am and end at 2:00pm.

Where: In Tempe (a suburb of Phoenix), Arizona at the LDS Institute on the Arizona State University campus. It's a great facility, right across the street from the ASU law school.

How: Registration will begin next month, August, on a website similar to those used for other JRCLS events. We will let you know the exact date and web address soon. Look for more information on this site, JRCLS emails and the JRCLS web page.

Cost: Not much at all. The cost will be $15.00 to cover breakfast and lunch. If you are interested in receiving CLE (3.75 hours will be available, including .75 hour of ethics), the cost will be $100.00.

Please come. We think it will be a rewarding experience. For detailed information regarding classes and presenters, go to jrcls.org and click on our Conference.
